South Texas is notorious for electing Democrats to Congress, but the Republican losing streak may be over this November with Monica De La Cruz running for TX-15. According to Cook Political Report, this district is now rated an R+1 and Monica is the only principled candidate in this race who can flip this seat. 

Monica’s grandmother legally immigrated to the United States to flee political injustice in Mexico. Growing up, Monica’s family taught her the importance of perseverance, respect, and courage that inspired her to be involved in community leadership roles from a young age. Monica opened her own insurance agency becoming the first new female agent in the Rio Grande Valley. With much success, she earned the prestigious President’s Club award, an honor bestowed upon the top 50 agents in the country. She used her life experience to fuel her desire to achieve the American Dream. Today, Monica owns several successful companies and is a proud small business owner.
