Leora Levy was born in Havana, Cuba, and escaped Fidel Castro’s Communist Revolution with her family in 1960. Here, in the United States, where she and her family immigrated legally, they have built a prosperous foundation and life for themselves. Leora embodies the definition of the American Dream.
Leora graduated from Brown University (A.B. International Relations) in 1978 and later became Finance Chair for the most recent Republican gubernatorial campaigns in Connecticut, for Tom Foley (2014) and Bob Stefanowski (2018), as well as for the Connecticut Republican Party from 2013 to 2015. She has helped Republicans in Connecticut and nationwide for over forty years, and has served on the Finance Committees for the RNC, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Leora has hosted and organized events for Republican Party organizations and candidates from around the country, welcoming many of our Republican national leaders to her home in Greenwich.
In 2019, Leora was honored to receive the nomination of President Donald Trump to be the U.S. Ambassador to Chile. Today, Leora serves as the Republican National Committeewoman for the state of Connecticut.
Leora is a true grassroots conservative who will do well serving in our Nation’s capital. For too long, Connecticut has been beholden to the whims of left-wing teachers’ and labor unions. Levy is the candidate Connecticut needs in order to defeat out-of-touch Democrat Richard Blumenthal. During his time in office, Blumenthal has voted for reckless spending packages and programs that have ballooned the federal budget and the overall size of government–Leora Levy would be a welcome change of pace.
Candidate’s Issues of Focus:
- Inflation and Economy
- Leora and her husband, Steven, have lived in Greenwich for 34 years and have raised three sons and seven dogs there.
